Suspension of Metro Service in Mexico City

On May 7, 2025, the Metro Collective Transport System (STC Metro) announced the suspension of service at the Deportivo Oceanía and Bosque de Aragón stations on Line B in Mexico City. So far, no details have been provided regarding the causes of this review of the tracks that has affected the operation of these stations.

Metro users reported on social media being stranded between 20 and 30 minutes at various points on Line B before the closure of the stations was announced. Due to the delay, security personnel asked passengers to evacuate the trains and exit the stations, announcing the temporary suspension of service. Affected users had to seek alternative modes of transportation to continue their journeys.

In response to this situation, it was announced that the Passenger Transport Network (RTP) units would offer emergency service at the affected stations to assist users. For the moment, it has been established that Line B will operate provisionally between Buenavista and Oceanía, as well as between Villa de Aragón and Ciudad Azteca, while the problem at the Deportivo Oceanía and Bosque de Aragón stations is being resolved.

Despite the presence of patrols and vehicles from the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) of CDMX to assist in the transportation of affected users, no additional information has been released regarding the causes that led to the temporary closure of the stations. The new general director of the Metro, Adrián Rubalcava, has not made any public statements on the matter so far.

Local public transport authorities have called on the population to take precautions and plan their trips, considering the suspension of service at the affected Line B stations.
